... and so for the first one in May I thought I'd surprise everyone with a little fun dog training competition. We included exercises that we've been working on in the last few months, combining the sort of dog obedience you'll find in many dog training classes with more useful everyday good dog behaviour things such an exercise designed to stop dogs from jumping up to greet people you meet on your walks.We marked every one of the exercises and ended up with a score out of a hundred. From seven dogs, amazingly two scored the same. Congratulations, then, to Sheila Riccioni with Dexter and Michelle Smith and Doofus who went head to head for the play-off. The winner - by a wet nose - was Doofus, who's been coming to the classes for a year now - so well done to him and Mum, Michelle. Persistence clearly pays!!
The photo shows "Doof", proudly wearing his prize, a Dogfather cap (No expense spent!). Unfortunately, Doof is pointing the wrong way and wearing the cap in a "New Kids On The Block" stylee, but you can't win 'em all, eh..? Graeme
