Jack Russells: Little dogs with BIG character! I live with a Jack Russell called Retro who came with his fair share of troubles - But nothing that can't be fixed!
Terriers can be fiesty little things and it's no surprise when you consider they were bred to go underground into another animal's domain, work with no support or supervision and carry out their duties (!) fearlessly. You might be thinking it's not the ideal specification for a pet dog but in truth they can be great companions with the right upbringing.
Typical Jack Russell problems I see?
- Dog aggression out and about, sometimes towards strange people too. Very often a fear reaction is the root cause
- Pulling on the lead and tripping people over
- Guarding beds and food in the house, sometimes ruling the roost at home
- Barking and getting over-excited whenever anyone leaves the house
- Nuisance barking.
The list's not exhaustive of course and these are just the ones that spring to mind. Whatever the problem you have with a Jack Russell (Or a Jack Russell cross), rest assured I know the breed well and I can help.
